The Elasticity of Time
Imagine you are told that you will be waitlisted from your dream college for a week until they decide. The anxiety you have starts to peak and it almost feels like the world will either come to an end or become the best version of itself. Now imagine you are stuck in traffic for an hour. Nothing too serious, not death. Just engineers working on the roads. You are eager to get to your job, you’re going to be late, maybe even fired too. This is the thing about time, it seems so serious at the moment but are those little things really the worst thing ever? Now imagine a doctor saying you have an hour left to live, or maybe even up to a week. The engineers now seem to be working faster and the acceptance letter from the college comes in just a few seconds later. Time isn’t slow nor fast, it depends on the severity of the situation. It bends around emotion.
