Why Jellyfish?
Jellyfish may seem to be a prominent theme on my page, but it goes deeper than just the aesthetics of this wondrous creature. Not only are they my favorite animal, but they hold such a symbolic meaning that I can tie well with poetry. Jellyfish don’t have a brain, a heart, blood, or consciousness. But still, they flow gracefully and react to the ocean around them through their nerves. But this isn’t a science lesson on Jellyfish. It’s one on the human race.
Poets, whom I consider a majority of humans to be, are like jellyfish; their writings and voices aren’t always from thought but just a natural flow of things. They are graceful with familiarity, and their words come from a place beyond rational thought processes. Jellyfish are creatures with fragility, vulnerability, and deep exposure. Similar to poetry and its unfiltered existence, spreading messages that not many have yet thought about. As you continue reading my blog, consider yourself a jellyfish just living in my words and floating through these currents.
