Women Who Carry Worlds
A woman has body parts that feed the hungry, that feed the little ones whom were born from her
a woman is subjective, like poetry written by a billion pens,
some full of colors, glitter, some bold, and dark, and some a pure mixture
a woman is a fighter, a leap of faith, holding onto imagination for the sake that it’ll one day come true
a woman is just a little girl who has grown up to face her fears, to face a society full of rage when they see her
when her body isn’t in just the “right” shape,
when her love handles are too full of love, and her voice is too strong when she was meant to stay quiet
because those who force themselves to be oblivious to her struggle, get tired of it, and they question
why does she still mentions the adversity she’s faced when she was given “freedom” 100 years ago
and the answer is a truth just like anything else, when resistance terminates, freedom starts to slip from our grasps.
when they will snatch our voice boxes from our throats with bare hands, and force them into the mouths of animals
because they see a male dog more valuable than a “bitch”
so yes, a woman continues to stand her ground, to express herself from head to toe
A woman continues to feed the souls of everyone, even those who have betrayed her, even those who she knows one day will.
